Attendance Contests

RCHS is currently holding two Attendance Competitions!  In Strive for Five, individuals who are present and on time to every class for all five days in a week are entered into a drawing for a prize. In March Madness, classes are competing against each other for highest attendance rate.

 

RCHS Student Art Shows

The RCHS Art Department will be hosting two Student Art Shows during the month of March. The first one is at Earth Fire and Spirit Gallery in downtown Lexington. Opening Night is March 6th at 5pm. Artworks will remain on view the month of March. The second Art Show will be in the RCHS Commons Area. Artworks will be on view March 23-28 during school hours and during the musical production of Grease.

Resources

Stakeholders were invited to become part of the collaborative effort to develop the comprehensive plan. A committee was formed to evaluate and prioritize the data from the planning survey that was gathered in the fall of 2022. Stakeholders — including parents, community members, students, teachers, and local business leaders and partners, as well as school and division level administrators — worked for months using the survey data to not only envision a future for RCPS, but also to develop a road map to take us there.

School attendance is critical for academic achievement and the preparation of students for the world of work. Each parent/guardian, having charge of a student within the compulsory attendance age, shall be responsible for the student's regular and punctual attendance at school as required by Virginia law.
